Site For Second WORTH Dialysis Unit Found

In October a team from WORTH returned to Cameroon. Among us was an American vascular surgeon, and he was able to create dialysis fistulas for access in some patients who will most likely need our services in the near future. After working at the dialysis unit in Yaounde for a few days the team drove five difficult hours to Bamenda, a large city to the northwest of Yaounde where a dialysis unit would serve a large population of people. While there was no satisfactory site for this new unit in Bamenda itself, we did find an excellent location in the nearby town of Mbingo. Serious discussions have transpired, and initial plans have been made to work with the Baptist Missionary Hospital there. Fortunately, they are in the process of constructing a new wing of the hospital, and they will allocate some of that space to us. The picture above shows the construction as it was while we were there.
